I have to stop and say that today absolutely exceeded my expectations in every way.
It’s been a long hard week to say the least. When you wake up, knowing you have to have a hard discussion, a tragic conversation over and over again, it can make you question why you’re doing what you do. And if you’re making any difference in this (too often) harsh world.
It’s nearly 8pm and I can honestly tell the world that I am not questioning my purpose tonight. What I am doing now, is sharing my deepest and most sincere gratitude. I am blessed beyond words to have so many amazing Allies who stood together and took on this day as a team.
I didn’t have to do anything alone, and really because of each of you, I barely had to do a thing. I have an unbelievable system of support, an absolutely wonderful team of diverse people who all bring something incredibly unique and powerful to the table each and every day. There is simply too much to say about you all that just can’t be expressed through words.
So, I will do this:
I will thank you.
Thank you, Susan. Thank you, Andre’. Thank you, Karla. Thank you, Jessica. Thank you, Jen. Thank you, Chris. Thank you, Steele. Thank you, Cindy. Thank you, Rob. Thank you, Jason. Thank you, Bruce. Thank you, Sarah. Thank you, Renee. Thank you, Joyce. Thank you, Kayla. Thank you, Corey. Thank you, Tony. Thank you, Angela. Thank you, Jay.
Thank you, all for what you did today. I can’t Thank you each enough but I can definitely do my best to try.
Suicide prevention can work, because TOGETHER, we can make a difference. And we are definitely not alone.
Tomorrow we host our conference and tomorrow we get to team up again.
I will be disconnecting from all communications Friday morning – Monday morning. I need self-care and this is part of that self-care. I appreciate all of you understanding this and I simply must adhere to the methods we preach. For my own well-being.
Take care of yourselves and take care of each other. You are loved.
