Susie Reece: A Lifelong Mission for Mental Health Advocacy
A Personal Journey of Healing and Understanding
Susie’s advocacy began with the loss of her father at a young age, which set her on a path of self-discovery. “We didn’t really have healthy conversations about grief or mental health,” Susie reflects. As she grew older, she began to understand how her mental health influenced her interactions and shaped her worldview. Diagnosed with major depressive disorder at 19, she found solace in connecting with others who shared similar experiences. “It validated me,” Susie shares. “It made me feel like I wasn’t broken and that I could build a life around something I couldn’t control.”
