A lot of organizations begin considering preparations for event planning this time of year. Conference planners and community organizers often think about speakers with lived experience who could elevate their causes and impact attendance.

When considering lived experience visibility, sometimes names and potential topics are the only things discussed and planned around. Let’s think about ways we can strengthen our work and center care while also increasing our impact.

We don’t have to sacrifice field values when trying to get people to our activities. In fact, our values should be embedded in every task we undertake.
